In my Spanish classroom, we start our day with a simple, five-minute reflection. How are you? Why? Students use markers and index cards to write/draw a brief answer. As we all immerse in our social-distancing, I believe these check-ins to be more important than ever.
I invite you to check in here as often as you’d like- whether it’s a simple answer, a drawing, a story, a musical recording, or an angry rant.
It’s good and important to find positivity and silver linings in the midst of these rapid transitions, but its also essential to embrace the chaos. In doing so, we nurture ourselves and others.
We do not need to hide our fear, sadness, anger, and we can also share our happiness at sleeping in until 10! We are all living distinct experiences right now- but each one of us is transitioning.
